My laundry hampers are empty for the first time in a long time. It will be somewhat tragic to dump that first piece of dirty laundry into one of them.

Perseverance

The little niece turned one yesterday. I was baking cupcakes for her party today and had batter left over, so I decided to make a small cake. However, the round cake pan was already being used for something else, so I improvised and ended up with a somewhat misshapen cake. Things only got worse when I cut it into two layers and then couldn't quite realign them properly. I also discovered that --- contrary to my belief --- frosting does not hide all faults. Anyhoo, I ultimately rallied and am pretty satisfied with the result. I mean, it could have been sooo much worse.

A rare occurrence

It's annoying when pens just stop working and even more annoying that it happens so often, but this pen was a trooper. It wrote until it had nothing left with which to write.

Have another pen of the same model though which is almost full but won't write. Figures!
